Your booking page in My trips has a Before you go checklist. Work through it in the weeks before you travel.

Open your booking in My trips and read Before you go.
Check that your passport is valid for six months after the trip, and keep copies apart from it.
Get your visa, or wait until the invitation letter under Visas and invitations is issued. See Visa invitations.
Arrange your vaccinations and your travel insurance.
Pay the balance invoice by its due date. A trip starts only when it is paid in full. See Deposits and balance payments.
Plan to carry cash in US dollars. Cards are rarely accepted.
Give your emergency contact your day plan. It is on The trip page, linked from your booking.

Good to know

About a week before the start, we send you a reminder with your day plan and a link to your booking (Owner to confirm: currently 7 days).
Each Plan page shows when it was last verified. If a page says Review due or Stale, details may have changed, so check them again.
Before the trip starts, ATIS reviews security and the roads on your route and decides whether the trip can go ahead. See When a trip cannot go ahead.
The checklist on your booking page is the reference. Its final wording: Owner to confirm.
After the trip, your booking page asks how it went. The short feedback form, especially what you say about safety and the roads, is read by the staff who decide on the next trips.
